June brings on more Activism

6/17/2017

So many participants and activists in so many directions.  Perhaps our activism is gaining a lot of attention.   Our seven elected delegates from the Central Committee attended the California Democratic Convention.  So many other people for El Dorado County volunteered and worked the convention.  With Sacramento being the location, it made it easy for new people to see what the California Democratic Party is all about.  With so many new Democrats participating, this is very hopeful.  Yes, there was controversy and dissent.  But we are Democrats, that is what makes our party so diverse and progressive, and inclusive.

Time to move on to our county!
Summer is here...and yet, we have a lot of work to do.  Our Committee is planning a lot of activities throughout the year.  I hope you can join us.

As Chair, I have been participating in the coordination of getting als 10-Counties in the California Congressional District 4 to work together in unison.  All of agree that in order to get rid of Tom McClintock as our Representative, it will take a consolidate effort to do this as one big team.  We have applied, and are waiting to hear if we can fund our interests to engage, educate, and register more voters for the 2018 election cycle.  We have signed all agreed on a Statement of Cooperation to work together.

And finally, another plea to our County Board of Supervisors to NOT cut back the budget for Senior Legal Services.  If you can, please submit your letter to your Board of Supervisor.

While the Democratic Party cannot endorse a candidate who is not a registered Democrat, be aware that in some races without a registered Democrat in the race, there are clear distinctions between candidates from other parties. In some important races there are extremists running against more moderate candidates. Do your homework before voting or contact your local Democratic Club for assistance.
